Se iban por el campo y Pini y Kuri'i se perdieron y se quedaron a comer tuna y escucharon algo que roncaba, un camión. Escuchaban algo que venía muy rápido y se acomodaron bien, se iban a esconder, le tenían miedo, se escondieron para que no les maten.
They were going through the field and Pini and Kuri'i got lost and they stayed to eat cactus and heard something roaring, a truck. They were listening to something that was coming very quickly and they settled down, they were going to hide, they were scared, they hid so they weren't killed.

Cortaron todos sus árboles y estaban tristes. El señor tenía un hacha y con eso echó todos los árboles; ellos le miraban. Luego los señores ya llevaron la leña en el camión.
And this man, [indicating the scene from the story] cut their trees. They hid in a hole, because they thought that they were going to be killed and they were scared. They cut down all the trees and they were sad. The man had an axe and he cut all the trees with it; they were watching him. Then the men took the wood in the truck.

They cried, because they didn't want the trees to be taken away, they were left watching as the truck lifted a cloud of dust as it left. They watched and saw the empty space where the trees had been.
